Mountain is mountain, mountain is not mountain, Po-Chun liu

Shangri-La

By depicting massive, hollow mountains through a method similar to texture strokes used in Chinese painting and through the use of the metal sheets and outlines depicting various animals and an abundant harvest of fruits, Po-Chun Liu works with overlapping lines of varying thicknesses in a 3D plane to emphasize the complex relationship between the imaginary space and the physical area it occupies. These elements combine to construct a towering, poetic art piece—a reminder of the long-forgotten paradise of Shangri-La, a place all yearn for.
